This project was many, MANY months in the making! Both for the amount of experimentation and the amount of practice before employing new techniques that went into the design. The vast majority was focused on the design of the large golden bird that wrapped around the dress.

My first project on this dress was redrawing the bird by hand and scaling it to fit the body of the woman who'd be wearing it. It was important that it wrapped seamlessly around the dress, naturally, and without any part of it looking distorted
